Vicky H. Lin

Vicky H. Lin represents employers on a wide range of employment issues including claims of discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, violation of privacy, wage and hour violations, and other employment-related claims in state court, federal court, and administrative agencies.  Ms. Lin also counsels clients on a full range of employment law issues, including employment contracts, severance agreements, personnel policies, workplace investigations, and employee discipline and termination matters.  Key representations include:

  • Obtaining summary judgment and summary adjudication on cases involving claims of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, breach of contract, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
  • Successfully appealing the denial of motions to compel arbitration.  Two of the appeals resulted in published California appellate opinions.
  • Defending and obtaining favorable settlements for employers including Fortune 500 companies and healthcare organizations health systems against claims of discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, whistle-blowing, and violations of CFRA and FMLA.
  • Assisting in a twelve day jury trial that resulted in a full defense verdict on discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, invasion of privacy, failure to pay wages, and intentional infliction of emotional distress claims.

Ms. Lin was recently named a Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star  in the field of employment and labor law, the sixth year she has received such recognition.  The distinction is awarded to only the top 2.5% of attorneys after a careful research and peer evaluation process.

Ms. Lin received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 2007 where she was a member of the Jessup International Moot Court Team.  Prior to law school, she worked in as an aide to Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren in Washington, D.C. and worked for a Member of Parliament in London.  Ms. Lin graduated with honors from Claremont McKenna College in 2003 with Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Literature.  Ms. Lin has spent her entire legal career practicing employment and labor law, most recently for several years at a large international employment and labor law firm.
